About the Product
Calcium carbide is a solid inorganic compound of calcium and carbon with the chemical formula CaC₂. The technical-grade product is a lump material of grey, dark grey, or greyish-brown colour.
Calcium carbide is produced by smelting quicklime and coke in electric arc furnaces. After solidification, the material is crushed and screened into fractions.
